Lesson 9 - Introducing ActionScript
This lesson introduces students to the basics of ActionScript.
ActionScript is a deep scripting language, and like any scripting language, the learning curve is relatively high. There are many places that you can take a complete course in ActionScripting.
Exercise 9A: Adding ActionScript to an existing movie
Instructions for Students:
In Lesson 8 of this guide, students created a digital scrapbook. In this exercise, you will add ActionScript to your timeline to make it stop at significant points, as well as to loop back to the beginning when it reaches the end.
If you are comfortable typing code, you can use the standard script editing mode from the Actions panel. Alternatively, you could use the Script Assist feature in Flash CS5. You should use the model from the lesson in the book to determine where to put your ActionScript commands.
