In this course, you will learn step-by-step instructions and in-depth explanations of the features of Adobe Dreamweaver. You will first learn how to get started with Dreamweaver and how to develop a Web page. Students will also be able to configure and upload web pages to a Web Server. Then, you will learn to plan and develop a successful Web site. Next, you will focus on adding text and formatting with CSS styles. Then, you will learn about organizing page content and adding shared site elements. Next you will learn how to create dynamic Web pages and animations. You will then learn how to add rich media and how to create reusable assets and forms. Finally, you will learn how to add database functionality. At the end of this class students will be able to create basic web pages containing text and graphic content. Upon completion of the course students will be able to:

1. Getting Started with Dreamweaver
Assignments- Step by Step tutorials taken from the textbook chapters. You will download a set of student files that will allow you to complete the chapter exercises and post them to a class webserver. To SUBMIT your work, email me at mtejada@dvc.edu . In the email, specify the assignment that your are submitting. Please go to the Submitting Homework section of the syllabus for additional information. Online Videos - You will watch Online Videos that help explain the Objectives of Each Textbook Chapter (Not Graded but HIGHLY recomended!) Midterm & Final Exams – There are No MidTerm and Final Exams. This course uses a semester length project to test your understanding of the class objectives. Thus there is NO need for exams.
You need to determine if the class is going to be CR/NC (Fill out form in Admissions) or Letter Grade. The Assignments and Video Demos are TOOLS to help YOU understand how to use DreamWeaver. The grading is based on COMPLETION!! I would love it if you did all the hands on labs, simulations, chapter review tests, etc because REPETITION is what is going to allow you to remember the different functions of DreamWeaver. When I correct your homework - if I find an error in your assignment then I email you directly and tell you what needs to be fixed so that you'll receive credit for that homework assignment. So if you don't hear from me - that is a Good Thing!! Assignment submissions can be checked through the Class website. I will then assign grades using the following formula:
To help support our class I have created a Class Web Site that you can access from any computer connected to the Internet. From here you can send me an email or view class information. Online Grades - You can view the your submitted Homework Assignments that I have given you credit for at: If I find errors in your assignment then I email you directly and tell you what needs to be fixed so that you'll receive credit for that homework assignment. If you don't hear from me - that is a Good Thing!! :)

All homework assignments will be POSTED(Copied) via FTP to a Student WebServer. You will be given your OWN personal website to use during the course of the semester. I will email your WebServer Configuration Information via email during the 2nd week of class. Send me notification that your homework is posted(copied) to the student webserver by emailin me at mtejada@dvc.edu. In the email, specify the assignment that your are submitting using the Subject Line listed on the Homework Calendar - I use Email rules to filter your assignments into the appropriate folders so Please use the Subject Lines. FOR EXAMPLE- Email Subject Line should Read => DW - Chapter 1 Complete - Your Name Thank You it will make it easier for me to track who has submitted what if you comply with these requests. When I am done grading the classes homework - I send out an Email Blast letting you know that your grades have been POSTED in the Gradebook and to check what I have Graded vs. what you have submitted. If your homework is Incorrect - I WILL EMAIL YOU DIRECTLY and tell you what needs to be fixed for you to receive Credit for the assignment then you can resubmit it for credit.
