GUIDELINES FOR THE VIDEOTAPED SPEECH

Return to Class Handouts

There is one speech that you will perform outside of class and submit to the instructor on videotape (VHS 1/2 inch) or on DVD.  I cannot view those mini cassettes from camcorders so you need to transfer your speech on to a VHS tape, DVD or CD that can be viewed on my computer.

Your taped speech needs to be saved as a Windows Media File (WMF) or MP4 or Apple Quicktime Movie.

You must perform this speech in front of an audience of no fewer than 5 people (pets do not count).  To verify that you do have an audience the cameraperson needs to scan the audience BEFORE the speaker begins.  If you do not have access to a video camera you may use the equipment here at SRC/DVC.  Please contact the Scheduling Department of the Media Center at DVC to arrange a time.  The phone number is (925) 685-1230 ext. 2248.

VIDEOTAPING DO’S AND DON’TS

You are responsible for the quality of the tape!
If the sound and/or picture quality is so poor that it can not be evaluated, the tape will not be accepted.

If you have ANY questions please contact me BEFORE you film and submit your video.

Thank You - Jennifer
